It works in the browser and through a Chrome extension, and the Free plan includes 1,000 memories.
No. You save things with one click in the Chrome extension or by pasting a link, import your X, Reddit, Instagram, YouTube or Notion saves from the Integrations menu, and find anything by typing a question in your own language. The API and MCP server are optional extras for developers who want to connect MyMemory to their own tools.
Yes. You can save notes, pages and PDFs in any language and search or chat in the one you write in, and a question in one language can find a note written in another. Search and chat have been tested in English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Gujarati, Arabic, Spanish and Ukrainian. AI chat answers in your language and can translate a note, a saved page or text you paste. MyMemory is a personal memory app, not a translation service or translation API.
Claude connects through the MyMemory MCP server, which gives Claude Desktop, Claude Code and other MCP clients five tools: save_memory, search_memories, list_spaces, get_memory_by_id and delete_memory. Run it locally with npx @everstash/mcp (stdio), or point a client at the remote server, https://api.mymemory.dev/v1/mcp (claude.ai and ChatGPT connectors sign in with your MyMemory account; other clients can send your API key as a Bearer token) — no install required. ChatGPT has no native MyMemory integration yet; to use your memories in ChatGPT, add the remote MCP URL as a connector if your ChatGPT plan supports custom connectors, export them from Dashboard → Export, or query the REST API at api.mymemory.dev/v1.
Yes. Memories are private to your account by default and are shared only if you add them to a shared space. Data is encrypted in transit with TLS, isolated with row-level security, and never sold. The Chrome extension saves a page only when you click it and does not record browsing history. When you use AI chat, your question and the relevant memories are sent to a third-party model provider such as OpenAI or Google Gemini to generate the answer. You can export all your data or delete your account at any time.
