Quick answer
Go to Dashboard → Export, choose what to include (memories, spaces, chats) and a format (JSON, CSV or Markdown), and download. Large libraries are prepared in the background and you can start one of those exports every 24 hours.
A second brain is only worth trusting if you can take it with you. MyMemory lets you download everything, in formats other tools can read, whenever you want.
Export in three steps
- Open Dashboard → Export.
- Choose what to include: memories, spaces, chats, or any combination.
- Pick a format and click export. The file downloads as
mymemory-export-<date>.
Which format to choose
| Format | Best for |
|---|---|
| JSON | A complete backup, or moving to another tool or your own scripts. |
| CSV | Opening in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. |
| Markdown | Reading as plain text, or dropping into Obsidian or another notes app. |
Large libraries
Small exports download straight away. For big libraries, MyMemory builds the file in the background and tells you when it's ready. You can start one background export every 24 hours.
What else you control
- Personalization memory (your preferred name and the summary MyMemory keeps of your interests) can be viewed, edited or turned off under Settings → Personalization, and it's included in your export.
- Deleting your account is available under Settings when you want to leave entirely.
Export once in a while even if you're happy. A backup you control is the whole point of owning your memory; see what a memory vault is.
