How to organize your Instagram saved posts into a searchable library
Move Instagram saved posts into MyMemory with the Chrome extension so recipes, design references and tips are searchable instead of buried.

Quick answer
With the MyMemory Chrome extension installed and instagram.com signed in, choose Add memory → Integrations → Instagram Saved in MyMemory. The extension opens your Saved → All posts page, collects the posts, and saves each one as a memory you can search, tag and ask AI about.
Instagram's save button is a black hole for recipes, workout routines, interior ideas and design references. Collections help a little, but there is no way to search the text of what you saved. MyMemory pulls those posts into a library where captions become searchable and AI can summarize them.
Requirements
- The MyMemory Chrome extension.
- instagram.com signed in, in the same Chrome profile.
- A MyMemory account. Each saved post becomes one memory, so check your plan's memory limit if you have thousands of saves.
How the import works
- Sign in at mymemory.dev, click Add memory, open Integrations, and choose Instagram Saved.
- The extension navigates to your Saved → All posts page on Instagram and gathers the posts listed there.
- Each post is sent to MyMemory with its link and caption. Progress updates appear while it runs, and posts already in your library are skipped.
Keep both tabs open until the import reports it is complete.
Make the saves useful
- Search captions by meaning: "one-pan chicken dinner" finds a recipe captioned "30-minute weeknight skillet".
- Tag by purpose:
#recipes,#home-ideas,#training. Filter with AND ("recipes" and "vegetarian") or OR. - Ask AI: "Give me a shopping list for the three dinner recipes I saved last month." Chat answers cite the posts they used.
Limitations
The import captures what Instagram shows on the Saved page: post links and captions. Text that appears only inside an image or video is not transcribed, so posts with empty captions are harder to find by search. Adding a tag or a short note to those posts fixes that.
