How to stop losing the things you save online
Bookmarks, saved posts, screenshots, notes: your saves are scattered across apps. Here's a simple way to collect them in one place and actually find them.

Quick answer
Things get lost because they are saved in many apps, each with weak search. Pull them into one place: import your X, Reddit, Instagram, YouTube, Notion and browser bookmarks into MyMemory, save new things with one click, and find anything later by describing it in your own words.
"I know I saved it somewhere." If you say that a lot, the problem isn't your memory. It's that the average person saves things in half a dozen apps, and each one has its own hidden list with its own poor search.
Why saved things disappear
- Too many places. Browser bookmarks, X bookmarks, Reddit saved, Instagram saved, YouTube Watch Later, a notes app, screenshots.
- Search that only matches exact words. If you don't remember the title, you're scrolling.
- No memory of where. You remember the idea, not which app it lives in.
The fix: one inbox for everything
Instead of trying to be tidier in each app, send everything to one place. With MyMemory that takes one afternoon:
- Bring in what you already saved. From Add memory → Integrations, import:
- X (Twitter) bookmarks
- Reddit saved posts
- Instagram saved posts
- YouTube and Notion pages
- your Chrome bookmarks
- a CSV of links, e.g. from Pocket
- Save new things in one click. The Chrome extension saves the page you're on, or press
Alt+Shift+S. On iPhone, the MyMemory Apple Shortcut saves from your phone. - Paste anything else. A link, a YouTube video, a PDF or a quick note all go through Add memory.
Finding things again
This is where it pays off. Describe what you remember, in your own words:
- "the video about fixing a leaky tap"
- "that thread with tips for first-time managers"
- "the Instagram recipe with chickpeas and spinach"
MyMemory searches by meaning, so it finds the right item even when you misremember the wording. You can also ask it questions ("What were the best laptop recommendations I saved?") and get an answer with links to the saves it used.
Keep it light
You don't need a filing system. If you want a little order later, group things into spaces, such as "Home renovation" or "Job search", and share a space with a partner or teammate.
